Abstract
| Simple bootstrapping is a re-sampling process that is now commonly used to produce confidence intervals. I will outline the development of a normal-based confidence interval for a mean currently used in our Stage 1 introductory statistics course. I will also outline the development of a bootstrap confidence interval for a population mean that will be used in the same course in 2012. Re-sampling techniques are part of the Level 8 Mathematics and Statistics Curriculum to be implemented in 2013. Advantages and disadvantages of each approach will be discussed. |
