16 July 2007 GENERAL EDUCATION MATHEMATICS

The MATHS 190/190G lecturing team is delighted to welcome their Guest Lecturer Dr Ian Stewart, FRS.
Ian Stewart is a researcher with interests in both pure and applied Mathematics, doubled by an acclaimed author of Mathematics popularisation and science fiction books and a former columnist for Scientific American. He dedicates a considerable part of his time to sharing his fascination with Mathematics ideas with the broad public.
Undergraduate students are welcome to make the most of this opportunity by taking MATHS 190 or MATHS 190G Great Ideas Shaping Our World in Semester 2. This course that presents major ideas and techniques of Mathematics and their relation to the world around us in a way that is relevant and accessible to students in all parts of the University, will be, more than ever, a real treat.

Superstart is aimed at students who would benefit from a Maths refresher before taking standard Maths papers in 2007.
