Shayne Waldron

I am an Associate Professor in the Mathematics Department of the University of Auckland.
My research interests are in approximation theory (and numerical analysis).

Background

Research areas

Approximation theory and numerical analysis, in particular multivariate polynomial interpolation and multivariate problems in general. More recently I have been interested in finite tight frames: their construction from abstract groups, and applications such multivariate orthogonal polynomials. Much of this work has been motivated by Zauner's conjecture and its implications for quantum information theory and signal analysis.
