Multifario

Multifario is a set of subroutines and data structures for computing manifolds of dynamical systems. Multifario is the continuation method part of a continuation code, and relies on the user to provide a way to project onto the surface from a point in the tangent space, and to compute the tangent space at a point. Two examples are included: a solver for systems of algebraic equations and a two point boundary value solver. A more complete set of solvers is available through interfaces to AUTO and LOCA, which use the solvers from those packages to do the projection and tangent space computations.

See the Multifario home page for more details and links to downloading the source. Mike Henderson wrote a short overview of the algorithm and a more detailed explanation and animations of how the code works are also available through the Multifario home page.

Contact person for Multifario is Mike Henderson (mhender@watson.ibm.com).
