Standard sequel to MATHS 250, available every semester at the City Campus and in the second semester at Tamaki. It covers topics in linear algebra and multivariable calculus. It is a foundation for a large number of Stage 3 courses in pure and applied mathematics and statistics. All students intending to advance in mathematics should take this course. This is a revised 2 point paper which concludes the new core sequence of algebra and calculus begun in MATHS 150.

Normally there are three lectures and one tutorial per week. Assessment is based on Final exam 54%, test 30% + Coursework (assignments 10%, tutorials 6%). However, if the student obtains at least 50% for the sum of the tutorial and the assignment marks, then plussage applies and the assessment changes to: EITHER the Final Exam 60%, test 40% OR the Final Exam 54% + Test 30% Coursework (assignments 10%, tutorials 6%), whichever favours the student.
