INSERT prescription for MATHS 101

Students will encounter the role mathematics plays in understanding and guiding human activity. The teaching is thematic and students experience how fundamental mathematical ideas occur in modelling diverse features of our society such as the environment (eg, air pollution) and medicine (eg, burns, drug dosages).

Restrictions: This course may be taken with or after MATHS 190 and may not be taken with or after any other mathematics course at Stage I or above. MATHS 101 is not available for students who passed NCEA Level 3 mathematics or equivalent. MATHS 101G can be taken by such students as part of their General Education.
