Seelye Foundation visitor

The Department was delighted to host Prof. Ian Stewart, FRS. Ian Stewart visited the Department from 24 September to 13 October, as the first Fellow of the Seelye Foundation. His visit is co-hosted by NZIMA - The New Zealand Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications.
Ian Stewart is a researcher with interests in both pure and applied Mathematic; an acclaimed author of Mathematics popularisation and science fiction books; and a former columnist for Scientific American. He dedicates a considerable part of his time to sharing his fascination with Mathematics ideas with the broad public.

University Foundation visitor

Professor Tommy Dreyfus from Tel Aviv will visit the Department from December 2007 to 30 December 2008.

McLaurin Fellows

One of the 2007 NZIMA McLaurin Fellows, Prof. Marcus de Sautoy, was a guest of the department in March 2007.
