Computing

In this course, you will use the software package MATLAB plus some additional MATLAB programs to do assignment and tutorial problems. A guide to the software used in the course can be downloaded here.

MATLAB is available for your use in the Mathematics and Statistics Computer Laboratories. You can also purchase a copy of MATLAB, for use on your own computer, from the Student Resource Centre located in the basement of the Maths building, at a cost of $99. If you buy your own copy of MATLAB you will need some additional files to use with Matlab to enable you to do Maths 260 problems. These files are free, and can be downloaded below.

Matlab files

Here is a zipped version of all the Matlab files you will need. Download the zipped file and unzip the file in the directory you will use for Maths 260.

Zipped Matlab files

NB: If you want to use these Matlab files on your home computer and you are using an old version of Matlab (R2007b or earlier) you will need to download the following file and use it to replace the file called pplane.m in the zipped files above:

pplane.m for Matlab R2007b
