On the May 12th the Mathematics Department held its Annual Student Research Conference.  16 students ranging from Bachelor to PhD level presented 15 minute talks on research which they have conducted. John Griffith Moala (Revisiting students’ “persistent misconceptions” on mathematical tasks), Joel Laity (Hash Functions and their applications) and Yan Bo Ti (Fault attack on supersingular isogeny cryptosystems) were the overall winners on the day.  Bradley Windelborn (Characterising c-to-one self maps on continua) received an honorary mention for his talk.
