Abstract
Mathematical modelling and analysis are now an acknowledged tool for abstracting the concepts from biomedical experiments and clinical investigations often creating a flamboyant mathematical symphony of life. The real key is understanding how all of this complexity is put together in a coordinated fashion to produce beautiful harmony between interrelated and finely balanced components. In this talk, I will focus on the use of analytical and numerical dynamical systems techniques to better understand how physiological systems and sub-systems coordinate, synchronise, and integrate their dynamics to optimise functions at the organism level and to maintain health. I will also highlight challenges and open problems.
