Abstract
Clinical outcomes of cancer patients treated by radiotherapy can be improved by more precise treatment delivery. High quality tomographic reconstructions of patient anatomy are required, balancing scan time, dosage and overall image quality. This talk will outline the imaging and treatment workflow and the basics of x-ray tomography. The speaker will go into greater depth discussing how to account for respiratory motion in thoracic tomography, and outline some recent and promising algorithms.
