Abstract
Would you like to enhance your students’ learning? Do you dream of enjoyable classes (for both you and your students)? Are you aiming for a 100% rating in item LS08 in your teaching evaluations? If you have answered “Yes” at least once, this seminar is for you! Dr Bodo Lang will discuss the importance of student engagement in large classes, its positive effects on learning, and how to foster deeper engagement. In this seminar you will also lean how to measure engagement and why it is important from a strategic perspective. Bio: Dr Bodo Lang is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at The University of Auckland Business School, New Zealand. Bodo’s career is a blend of the commercial and academic sectors. His commercial career spans roles in advertising (Germany) management consulting (New Zealand and Australia) and working in a leadership position for a global market research (Singapore). The other half of Bodo’s career has been spent in academia. To date Bodo’s research has been published in a range of international journals and conference proceedings. His research and commentary has appeared in all major print and broadcast media in New Zealand. Bodo serves on multiple Editorial Review Boards and is an Associate Editor.
