Research interests
My main areas of interest are how the computer may be used
to improve students' conceptual understanding of algebraic expressions and
equations and the effect of symbolic manipulators and calculators on students'
understanding of algebra and calculus. I am also interested in the way that the
brain processes mathematical thought through the interaction of its hemispheres
and the pedagogical implications of this for promoting versatile learning in
mathematics.
