Abstract
| The past three decades have seen a revival of interest in the study of polytopes and their symmetry. The most exciting new developments all center around the concept and theory of abstract polytopes. The lecture gives a survey of topological classification results for abstract regular polytopes, focussing in particular on polytopes which are globally or locally toroidal. |
