Abstract
| Recently a team of 19 people led by the MEU won a major research grant from Ako Aotearoa. The two-year project is to look at the full spectrum of desired learning at undergraduate level, find ways to observe this learning, and analyse and report these observations in a Course Learning Profile that will distinguish between different types of course delivery. Mathematics is the context for the project, and our Department is the main site. As part of the project we will be trying three innovative course delivery modes (so that we can determine whether different delivery does lead to different types of learning). The Colloquium presentation by members of the team will introduce the project to the Department, outline the process we intend to follow, set the scene for anyone interested to become involved, describe our initial plans for course innovations, and request feedback. We will also discuss our expectations about the outcomes and implications of the project. |
