THE SORCERER’S BUCKET

 

A bucket is made by revolving the graph of the function:

y = -1/x,         0 < x < 1         about the y-axis.

 

 

Show that this bucket cannot contain enough paint to paint its inner surface, (i.e its volume is finite but its surface area is infinite).
